Buying a sofa in Montreal comes with its own set of questions. Will it make it up the outside stairs? Can it arrive the week you move? And how does it feel before you commit?

Where to See a Soffie in Greater Montreal
Soffie's in-person option is its try spots: sofas set up in partner cafés, where you can sit down with a coffee and take your time. There are two in the Montreal area.
Velora Café Pâtisserie, Saint-Henri
3009 R. Notre Dame O, Montréal, QC H4C 1N9. Open Monday to Sunday, 10:00 to 20:00.
Dose Cafe, Chomedey, Laval
1500 R. Montgolfier #102, Laval, QC H7T 0A2. Open Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 17:00, and Sunday, 09:30 to 16:00.
Hours can change, so check the try spot page before you go. If you want to see a specific collection or a sofa bed, contact Soffie ahead of your visit to confirm what is on display.
What to Check When You Visit
Each try spot is set up so you can test the seat, handle the covers, see a module at full size and ask about storage, configurations or delivery.
A few things make the visit more useful:
- Bring the width of your front door and the narrowest turn on your stairs.
- Take a photo of the room and the wall where the sofa will go.
- Sit the way you usually do at home, whether that is upright, curled up or stretched out.
- Note the colours you like, then order swatches to check them in your own light.
Sofa or Sofa Bed?
On a Soffie product page, the first decision is the type: Sofa, or Sofabed & Storage. The sofa bed version adds a sleeping surface and a hidden compartment for bedding, a practical choice in a home without a spare room.
Both types come in the Nest Atelier and Loop Studio collections. Sizes run from a single sleeper armchair to three, four and five seat sofas, L-shaped sectionals and a U-shaped layout.
If you are leaning toward a bed, our guides to sleeper chairs and sectional sofa beds cover the smallest and largest options in detail.
Getting It Into a Montreal Home
Plenty of Montreal homes are reached by an exterior staircase, a tight turn or a narrow front door. A sofa delivered in one piece can struggle with any of those.
Soffie sofas avoid that problem. They are delivered in modular boxes, and the Soffie FAQ puts the biggest one at about 80 lbs and 36.3 × 40 × 25 inches. Once inside, the modules connect without tools.
Delivery is to your building's entrance, so it helps to line up a friend for the stairs. Then find the narrowest point on your route, such as a stair landing, a hallway or an elevator door. Compare it with the box size before you order.
Planning Delivery Around a Move
Many Montrealers move on or around July 1, and a new sofa often needs to arrive at the new address, not the old one. Soffie's FAQ says you can ask for delivery on a specific date that suits you.
You can also ask Soffie to delay a shipment and schedule it for later. For an estimate at your address, check the delivery dates shown below the Add to Cart button on each product page.
Fabrics That Handle Everyday Life
Soffie's covers are removable and washable, and the try spot pages describe them as pet-friendly. For homes with pets or young children, Soffie describes its Ultimate Velvet as spill-proof, pet-friendly and machine washable.
If you cannot get to Saint-Henri or Laval, order free fabric swatches. You can compare colours in your own light and against your floors before choosing.
Try It at Home for 40 Days
A café visit tells you how a sofa feels. Living with it tells you how it fits. The 40-day home trial leaves room to find out both, and the 5-year warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects for the long run.
Underneath the fabric sit a solid beech frame and 32 DNS high-density foam. The sofas are designed in Canada and made in Europe.
Whether you are furnishing a Saint-Henri loft, a plex apartment or a Laval condo, the process is the same. Try it in a café, measure your stairs, pick your date, and give it 40 days at home.
